Our hotel was actually a one-bedroom apartment we rented from Oporto Home Apartments. It overlooked the Douro River in the historic Ribiera section. Except for the fact that automobile access was restricted (we schlepped our bags a block or two), it was very convenient to tourist sites and restaurants. Contrary to the appearance of the building’s exterior, the interior was up-to-date, modern and very clean.
