After three nights in Lisbon, we took a rental car and drove south along the coast, passing a lot of cork trees, to Lagos. Lagos is a small city on south coast of Portugal in the Algarve region. In the 15th century, Lagos was the main center of Portuguese maritime expeditions down the African coast.
