Castelo da São Jorge

St. George Castle sits atop a hill overlooking Lisbon and the Tagus River. The Romans constructed the first fortifications around 84 AD, but the large remaining fortifications were built in the 11th century by the Moors and added to in the 14th century by Portugese King Ferdinand I.
