Colorado Bend State Park is a 5,300 acre state park in the Hill Country, about midway between Lampasas and San Saba. It was purchased in 1984 and opened to public in 1987. It is representative of the karst features typically seen in the Hill Country, with many sinkholes, caves, and springs. It has some long, challenging mountain biking trails as well as popular hiking trails. Spicewood Canyon feature a good-sized spring-fed swimming hole, and Gorman Falls is an interesting spot to visit.
These photos were taken on two trips to the area, the first in May 2020, and the second in October, 2020.
