Lac de Bethmale is located in the central part of the Pyreness at a lower altitude (3480 ft), and is a spring-fed pond with a small dam on one end. The term “lac” (lake) is a little generous…it should be called a pond (l’etang). It is somewaht famous for its reflections, and the day we stopped there, they were indeed striking.
