The day we left Pau for our next stop in Viscos, we checked the weather and found that it would be a nice day, clouding up and raining late. It was expect that the following two days would be rainy, so we drove directly to one of the places we really wanted to see: the Cirque du Gavarnie, high in the Pyrenees.
We arrived at Gavarnie in time to begin the 8-1/2 km (5.3 mile) round trip hike in the sunshine and had a great day.
