Salt Basin Dunes are on the far west side of the park, some 17 miles from Dell City, TX, with a hike for the last 1-1/2 miles. The white gypsum dunes are up to 60 feet tall, not nearly as tall nor do they cover the large area of White Sands in New Mexico, or the Great Sand Dunes in Colorado, but interesting nonetheless.
