McKittrick Canyon is a very popular trail in the fall. The trailhead is located several miles northeast of the Park Headquarters and runs almost 5 miles one-way to Hunter’s Cabin. It continues much further up to Permian Reef and over the mountains but most people turn around before the climbing begins.
