After driving the Notom-Bulldfrog Road on the east side of Capitol Reef, we turned onto Burr Canyon Road toward Boulder, with a side trip to Strike Vallley Overlook (see Capitol Reef). Burr Canyon is a long fairly narrow canyon with some interesting photo opportunities. The cottonwoods were at the height of their fall colors, and against the red sandstone walls, the scenery made for a pleasant drive. On our way to Bryce Canyon the next day, we came back partway to see if we could improve on the lighting, with some success.
There is so much to see in this area that one could easily spend a week or two. Maybe next fall…
