| Description |
Habitat: Rocky areas on ledges and at bases of cliffs and bluffs, 3,000-5,000 ft., in mountainous areas of far West Texas. Plant: Deciduous shrub, normally 2 to 5 ft. tall; multiple stems and slender, erect branches. Leaves: Opposite, pinnately-compound leaves on petioles 1-1/2 inches long with 3 to 13 ovate-lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, deep green leaflets 1-1/2 to 4 inches long; toothed edges. Inflorescence: Clusters of large, trumpet-shaped, showy yellow flowers, about 1-1/2 inches long and up to 2 inches across in terminal racemes. Bloom Period: April to November.
