| Description | Habitat: Roadsides, fields, waste grounds, prairies, disturbed sites and desert areas. Plant: Erect annual up to 24 inches tall; stems branching from base and above; herbage smooth to sparsely pubescent. Leaves: Basal and stem leaves petiolate; basal leaves not in a rosette; stem leaves alternate, blades oblanceolate or oblong in outline, 1 to 4-3/4 inches long, pinnately-divided into 2-6 pairs of lobes; margins entire, dentate, or lobed; uppermost stem leaves sometimes not lobed. Inflorescence: Small yellow flowers in terminal racemes on slender ascending pedicels; 4 green sepals; 4 yellow petals ~1/8-inch long. Bloom Period: December to May.
