| Description |
Habitat: Desert environments; gravelly, rocky limestone slopes and rock fissures. Plant: Weak, sparsely-branched annual with spreading, decumbent stems; up to 2 feet high, usually much smaller. Leaves: Alternate from below the stem midpoint on long petioles, ovate with a cordate base, 3/8 to 1-5/8 inches long and almost as wide. Inflorescence: Slender, widely spaced raceme with small flowers, each about 3/8-inch across with 5 blue petals and yellow throat. Bloom period: March and April.
