| Description |
Habitat: Desert environment; gypsum (or possibly calcareous) soils. Plant: Subshrub with multiple, branched, smooth stems 12 to 20 inches tall. Leaves: Opposite, linear-filiform, never lobed, 3/4 to 2 inches long. Inflorescence: Numerous small heads in terminal clusters with 3 to 5 yellow rays each; yellow disk florets; bell-shaped involucre with 5 broad, oval-shaped phyllaries.
