| Description | Habitat: Rock outcrops, cliffs, ledges, rocky soils on slopes and in flatlands above 4000 ft. Plant: Low-growing, spreading perennial, numerous stems up to 15 inches long. Leaves: Pinnately-compound leaves with 3 to 6 oblanceolate or oval to linear leaflets, 1/4- to almost 1/2-inch long, slightly hairy. Inflorescence: Small yellow flowers 1/2 inch long, typical of the pea family, with reddish back-sides on peduncles less than 1/2-inch to more than 2 inches long; linear bract at top of peduncle.
