This fall trip to Big Bend, the week before Thanksgiving, took place following a wet monsoon season in August that greened the area up a lot and provided some nicer-than-usual wildflower opportunities.
The weather was cool and windy, and mountain biking and hiking were great.

Before arriving at Big Bend, I spent a couple nights at Kickapoo Caverns State Park northeast of Del Rio. They had not received the beneficial monsoon rains so wildflower shooting was limited.
But there were some trails to bike and hike and a tour of the Kickapoo Caverns was impressive.
