Rüdesheim

At the southern end of the Rhine Gorge is the small city of Rüdesheim am Rhein, or just Rüdesheim. It is in the Rheingaü wine region of Germany, noted for its Riesling wines. We spent an afternoon here and one of the acticvities was a wine tasting in the cave of the vintner Adolf Störzel. The town also has a large museum featuring mechanical musical devices including music boxes. Some of these mechanical marvels are quite amazing. At least one features several violins being operated mechanically.
