Munster

Munster is located in the valley of the river Fecht in the Vosges Mountains about 9 miles west of Colmar. Munster suffered substantial damage during World War I but the important buildings have been renovated. It is famous for Munster cheese, one of the stinkiest but most flavorful. We enjoyed the cheese as one of the toppings on a “tarte flambe” (or “flammekuchen”) for a late lunch.
