Winter offers some challenges for photography with generally fewer colors and highly contrasting scenes, to name a couple. Not to mention the cold! But nice colors can often be found in the early morning alpenglow and at sunset.
These shots were taken of the mountains around Summit, Clear Creek and Chaffee counties in Colorado and some near Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
Skiing, hiking, or snowshoeing was required for most shots. Unfortunately, access to ski areas is limited to daylight hours when the main colors are blue and white. But, they can be interesting shots as well.
